What is Floatation?

Floatation therapy is actually one of the simplest forms of therapy you can get anywhere. There’s no interference from anyone else and no effort required on the part of the client. You simply lay back and float.

Like in the Dead Sea, high volumes of Magnesium rich Epsom salts are the reason that you float on the water rather than lay in the water.

It doesn’t take long to find a deep relaxation and if you choose to give yourself a full sensory deprivation experience you can really find a deep meditative state that rejuvenates the body and the mind in quite a unique way.

The modern day floatation pods and tanks are a far cry from the original floatation tanks which were invented by neuroscientist Dr John C Lilly in the 1950’s during his research of sensory deprivation at the National Institute for Mental Health in the U.S.

There are many more recent studies being undertaken around the world by medical professionals, with many focussing on the long term effects of regular floatation sessions on many different medical conditions.

The important thing to remember with floatation is that each float you have will be different from the last. No two sessions will ever be the same.
